- This red and blue shield features hand-carved Ringerike-style ornaments and two Odal runes which give this piece a unique meaning. The Odal symbol () generally represents inheritance, tradition, and continuity. It is also a symbol of unity and family ties. In reverse, it represented the negative concepts of loneliness, division, separation, and rebellion. By carving both symbols on their shield, Viking warriors, both male and female would communicate to their enemies and brothers-in-arms that they accept their fate.
- The shield is made out of 15mm thick birch plywood and finished in wood staining and hand painting techniques, treated with linen seed oil and sealed with acrylic varnish. It comes with a handlebar attached to the back.
