- This black and yellow wood shield features a typical Slavic sun symbol. Smooth shields of this style were usually placed on the sides of Viking ships to protect the raiders from the distant hail or arrows, like the famous Gokstad ship, which dates from the 10th century.
- The shield is made out of 15mm thick birch wood, painted, and smoothed by hand. It is decorated with a steel hand-hammered umbo, consolidated by steel bolts and comes with a wood handlebar installed on the back.
- The shield can be used as a decorative wall hanger or as a functional piece for medieval reenactment or LARP.
